ARTIST STATEMENT

As an emerging artist, stylistic experimentation and exploration are the cornerstones of my art practice. My work centers around communicating emotional narratives through 2D mixed media and expands into installation, video, and social practice fields. Interactivity, sensory experience, and visual stimulation are aspects that I frequently explore through my interdisciplinary approach to creating. Heavy line-work, high contrast colors, and surrealist patterns are motifs consistent throughout my art, invoking a dramatic and otherworldly lens over diverse conceptual subjects.

Thematically, my work investigates the complexities of nature and human perception through intricate attention to detail. Layers of patterns and oversaturated colors suggest interconnections between juxtaposed perspectives, such as fear and curiosity. My projects revolve around emotional explorations into social phenomena and anomalies, digging into concepts such as liminality, freak accidents, out-of-body experiences, miracles, and superstition. The concept of special or sacred moments anchors itself as the core of my artistic practice— contemplating what makes a feeling indescribable, and how we might capture elusive moments when words fail to describe their depth.
